The RIT American Welding Society Student Chapter is happy to share that we hosted our first succesful welding competition at the Rochester Arc & Flame Center!
On March 29th, from 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM, 16 Competitors welded against each other to see who would win the first place trophy. They competed in TIG and MIG welding, with drawing packages designed by select RIT AWS E-Board. Their welds were then judged by a certified welding inspector (CWI). We are happy to share that the 1st, 3rd, and 5th place welders were with the RIT AWS!
Besides the competitors, we had around 40 spectators who were able to recieve a blacksmithing lesson as well as play around with TIG.
We could not be more grateful for all of the help we recieved from A&F and outside the club in making this event a success. See everyone next year!
